A very contemporary space utilising clean lines, open spaces, contemporary material choices and minimal sculptural planting throughout. The materials used were chosen to provide contrast and interest. The materials also enhance the modern feel of this garden, with polished sandstone paving, white rendered walls and hardwood seating.
The floating benches are made of teak and a weather resistant. The walls are straight rendered and painted white contrasting with the darker teak. The gravel areas contrast with the white walls and teak benches still maintaining the minimalist look. The patio paving area is pale and rectangular contrasting well with the other materials, and large enough for tables, chairs and sun loungers.
The planting is very formal Box spheres in rows adjacent to the straight white walls. Iris’s sit between the spheres providing a magnificent blue array of colour in early Summer. The lawns are kept short and neat to maintain the minimalist effect and keep the garden looking contemporary throughout the year.
